Heat And Mass Transfer is a book that discusses many of the important concepts of energy studies and mass transfer, and explains various topics in easy-to-understand language. The book makes liberal usage of case studies, solved examples, and other exercises to explain various topics. The author also explains various physical phenomena and other occurrences, in detail for students.
The book is divided into ten main chapters that explain various topics in detail, and the second half of the book contains five appendices that are to be used for further reading. The main chapters are conduction heat transfer at steady state, condensation and boiling, heat exchangers, some special heat transfer processes, and heat transfer by natural convection and mass transfer. The appendices cover thermophysical properties of matter, mathematical relations and functions, and internal systems of units. The last two appendices contain miscellaneous solved problems, that will help students prepare for any exam in the future, and it also has fill in the blanks and true or false questions.
Heat And Mass Transfer covers important topics extensively, and can be used by students as a guidebook to understand various concepts better. The third edition of the book, written by P K Nag, was published by McGraw Hill Education India Pvt. Ltd in 2011, and is available in paperback.

About the Author

Yunus A. Cengel is Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno. He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University. His areas of interest are renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy policies, heat transfer enhancement, and engineering education. He served as the Director of the Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) at the University of Nevada, Reno, from 1996 to 2000. He has led teams of engineering students to numerous manufacturing facilities in Northern Nevada and California to perform industrial assessments, and has prepared energy conservation, waste minimization, and productivity enhancement reports for them. He has also served as an advisor for various government organizations and corporations.Dr. Cengel is also the author or coauthor of the widely adopted textbooks Fundamentals of Thermal-Fluid Sciences, Heat and Mass Transfer: Fundamentals and Applications, and Introduction to Thermodynamics, all published by McGraw-Hill Education. Some of his textbooks have been translated into Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Italian, Greek, and French.Dr. Cengel is the recipient of several outstanding teacher awards, and he has received the ASEE Meriam/Wiley Distinguished Author Award for excellence in authorship in 1992 and again in 2000.      About the Author

Frank P. Incropera is currently Matthew H. McCloskey Dean of the College of Engineering at Univeristy of Notre Dame. Professor Incropera received his B.S.M.E. from M.I.T. and his M.S.M.E. and Ph.D. from Stanford University, all in mechanical engineering. In 1998, he became the Clifford and Evelyn Brosey Professor of Mechanical Engineering. Professor Incropera has received four major Purdue teaching awards and was the 1982 recipient of the ASEE Ralph Coats Roe Award for excellence in teaching. He was the 1983 recipient of the ASEE George Westinghouse Award for achievements in teaching and research. In 1984 he became a Fellow of the ASME, and in 1988 he received the ASME Heat Transfer Memorial Award for twenty years of research accomplishments in the fields of plasma heat transfer, radiative transfer in participating media, and double-diffusive and mixed convection. In 1988 he was also recipient of the Senior Scientists Award of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and recipient of the Melville Medal for the best original paper published by ASME. In 1995 he received the Worcester Reed Warner Medal of ASME for contributions to the fundamental literature of heat transfer and his textbooks on the subject.

Luis Suarez: 52 goals, 1 bite, 100 internationals and 3 World Cups


uis Suarez scored the winning goal in his 100th match for Uruguay on Wednesday as they progressed to the last 16 of the 2018 World Cup after beating Saudi Arabia 1-0 at the Kazan Arena.
The goal against the Asian nation was the striker's 52nd as he continues to lead Uruguay's list for the highest goalscorer in international football.
The winning goal added another glorious chapter in Suarez's Uruguay career as he became the first player for the nation to score in three different World Cups (2010, 2014 and 2018).
The Barcelona player has been the cornerstone for Uruguay at World Cups. Suarez was the catalyst as they defied all the odds to reach the semi-finals in South Africa in 2010, their best finish since 1970.

The hero then turned into a villain in 2014 Brazil World Cup. In the match against Italy, Suarez bit defender Giorgio Chiellini in the dying minutes of their last group match. Suarez was later punished with a record nine-match ban from competitive games.
Uruguay's run in 2014 tournament also came to an end after one more game as they lost to Colombia 2-0 in the round of 16 in the absence of their star striker.
Despite all the notoriety, Suarez has remained the most important player for the two-time world champions. Under Suarez's guidance, Uruguay finished second in the South American qualifying.
With round of 16 qualification confirmed for Uruguay, the next target for Suarez will be to do the unthinkable by winning the World Cup to leave an indelible mark at the international stage.
